Shirley,  was everybodies favourite Mid day Assistant. She loved all children. We all hung  off her arms and parade around the playground. We would squabble over her and Shirley would have to step in and make sure we all got a turn. I remember the doors would open for lunch, we would race across the playground to her. She made lunchtimes fun and was very kind and caring. Her husband Alfie was loved just the same. He would come up to the school to collect Shirley,  sitting on the bench, by the school gate with a great big smile and lots of children chatting to him all at the same time. . He worked in the music industry and would always bring badges and other pop memorabilia and give them out.

Every memory of primary school includes Shirley. She will be truly missed. Thank you for being you. You made some children's childhood a brighter place and helped some understand you can trust some adults.

Rest in eternal peace xxx
